Nordic telecommunications operators TeliaSonera and Telenor said Friday they are both in active talks with Apple Inc. regarding a deal over the much-hyped iPhone. Spokesmen from both companies told Dow Jones Newswires they were “very interested in the iPhone,” but said they couldn’t say more due to ongoing discussions. “We have seen immense interest in the iPhone from our customers,” said Anders Krokan, Telenor spokesman. “We are still in talks, but I doubt we would be able to offer the iPhone this year.”

We went to a cafe called More Cafe last night and we followed the signs to the parking which was at the back of the building. Then we had to get on a golf cart to go to More Cafe which was at the front of the building. When we were leaving the cafe they just told us to drive ourselves back to the car. So Crystal took the wheel and the result you can see below.

Mosh is a new social networking/mobile site by Nokia. I’ve registered and downloaded their client software but so far I’m very underwhelmed. Since it’s Nokia I expected some really cool client app to put on my Nokia E61i but alas, no. Shozu is way cooler on the phone than Mosh, and FaceBook is way better as a site than Mosh. Franckly, unless things improve greatly, Mosh is going to be just mush

When I started up Google Reader this morning I got a bit of a surprise. It showed me over 500 unread items. Normally it says no more than “100+”. I didn’t think much about it until I started going through the list and came to this which reveals that Google Reader now has learned to count up to 1000. So I probably had about the normal amount of unread items in the list, it was just that Reader had gone back to school to learn how to count.

PEOPLE in the city of Lund in Sweden that use the Microsoft Vista OS can’t connect to the Internet.
According to this local newspaper, the reason is because Lund is a Linux city which has a a Linux server that doesn’t like Vista.

Lundis Energi blamed Microsoft because Vista has got a bug and it isn’t going to change the configuration of the server just to cope with the flaw.

A local Microsoft rep said it could probably fix the problem if Lundis Energi got in touch with it.

It was Denmark in the spotlight before about controversial cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed, now it’s apparently Sweden. A small local newspaper in Sweden published a drawing or cartoon of the Prophet. I’ve not seen the drawing so I can’t really say what may be upsetting about it, but the Swedish paper published an English translation of the editorial commenting on the whole thing:

However, on the other hand, it is also permissible to ridicule Islam’s most foremost symbols – just like all other religions’ symbols. There is no opposition between these two goals. In fact, it is even the case that they presuppose each other…

The right to freedom of religion and the right to blaspheme religions go together. They presuppose one another.
What happens if a fundamentalist Muslim wants to express his faith through pictorial art? Quite clearly, it will be easy to persuade art galleries that the pictures are unsuitable, that they may lead to conflict. So the restriction of Lars Vilks’ possibilities to express himself may also negatively affect Muslims’ right to express themselves.

In Pakistan especially people are upset to the point of burning the Swedish flag and a doll supposed to be the Prime Minister of Sweden.
