Innocent for some, insulting for others
Many people are really upset over Richard Gere’s recent kissing and hugging of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty. A quick search on YouTube reveals this:
Now for most westerners that seems awfully innnocent, right? Perhaps not the thing we would all do, but certainly not something we’d get upset about. But many Indians are really upset because kissing is not something that you show in public, and they never (almost never) have it in their films. And I could perhaps understand that, but why then is something like this okay?
